Manila (ANTARA) - Infrastructure damage from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in the Philippines on 8 June has reached 1.36 billion pesos (approximately IDR 400 billion), according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Friday (19/6). The figure has increased compared to the NDRRMC report on 17 June, which recorded losses of 1.29 billion pesos. The NDRRMC recorded damage to 799 infrastructure assets, including in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Meanwhile, the number of damaged houses in the four regions reached 61,119 units, of which 13,691 were destroyed. The number of casualties is still being verified. There are 78 recorded deaths, 1,339 injuries, and 32 people missing, all in the Davao Region and Soccsksargen. The NDRRMC stated that these figures may still change once the validation and verification process is completed.
