Makkah – Dam distribution by approximately 135,000 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims during the 1447 AH/2026 CE season through the official Adahi programme demonstrates that Hajj services are effectively managed, secure, comfortable, and accountable. Coordinator of the Guidance and Dam Division of the Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia, M. Afief Mundzir, stated that the slaughter of dam animals on Tarwiyah Day proceeded smoothly, providing ease for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. ‘Alhamdulillah, this year our Hajj pilgrims can distribute dam through official channels set by the Saudi Arabian authorities. The large number involved is proof that Hajj services are effectively managed, secure, comfortable, and accountable,’ Afief said in Makkah on Monday. The high participation rate of Indonesian pilgrims using Adahi reflects strong trust in the official mechanisms provided by the Saudi government. Director of Regular Hajj Pilgrimage at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasised that using official channels ensures the slaughter complies with Islamic law, and that meat distribution is measured and transparent. He hopes next year’s dam management will improve transparency and accountability further. The good management also has positive humanitarian impact: meat from Indonesian pilgrims’ dam is prioritised for Palestinians as solidarity. This policy follows directives from the Minister and Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah. ‘As last year, Adahi has provided aid to Palestine. This year, the Minister and Deputy Minister have clearly directed that Indonesian pilgrims’ dam meat should be prioritised for our brothers and sisters in Palestine,’ Afief said. Adahi’s management previously confirmed this commitment directly to Indonesian media and Hajj officials. ‘This adds value for Indonesia, particularly for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims, as their worship also benefits those in need,’ Afief added. With nearly 135,000 participants, Indonesia remains one of the largest contributors to Adahi’s official dam programme this Hajj season. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah recorded 195,326 Indonesian pilgrims fulfilling their dam obligations: 135,367 through Adahi, 53,506 via official Indonesian institutions, and 6,453 through fasting.
