Dakota Flats Security Guard Reports Alleged Assault to Police
A security guard at the Dakota Flats (Rusun Dakota) in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, reported an alleged assault to the Kemayoran Police on Friday, after a video of the incident circulated on social media.
Kemayoran Police Chief Kompol Agung Ardiansyah stated that his team visited the location and searched for the victim and the suspected perpetrator after receiving information about the video.
‘On the day the video emerged, we immediately went to the location and searched for the victim and the perpetrator. However, the victim was only able to file an official report today,’ Agung said in Jakarta on Friday.
Following the report, police launched an investigation and have identified a suspect with the initial ‘A’. Agung said investigators have attempted to summon and arrest the suspect.
‘We have also made efforts to summon and arrest the perpetrator. The suspect’s identity is currently known by the initial A, but he is still at large,’ Agung stated.
He added that investigators are still examining the case and gathering statements from several witnesses to fully uncover the matter.
Regarding information suggesting the alleged assault was related to cable theft in the flat complex, Agung said this was based on the victim’s initial account and still needs to be proven through investigation.
Police are continuing their inquiries to ascertain the chronology of the incident, the role of the suspect, and the alleged motive.
‘The information we received is based on the victim’s statement. However, we need to complete it first, we need to gather evidence. For now, it is a developing issue, and we will verify its truth later,’ Agung concluded.
