Daiwa Bank
We refer to the article Foreign banks plan more loans to RI, which was published in your newspaper Aug. 25, 1995.
We would like to re-affirm that the remarks quoted in your article were not raised by The Daiwa Bank, Limited.
Please be informed that Ong Choon Hong, mentioned therein, is a woman, and not a man. Moreover, she did not discuss with you the issue raised.
We would also like to reiterate that it is our bank's policy that all press releases must obtain our prior authorization.
In view of the above misconception, we would appreciate your necessary action to rectify this matter.

Note: The article was based on brief interviews between our reporter and a number of bank executives, including two from the Daiwa Bank, prior to the signing of an agreement on Unggul Indah's loan in Singapore last Wednesday. At that occasion, the reporter also received a number of name-cards and it is very unfortunate that he mistakenly took the name-card of Ong Choon Hong for his article, instead of that given by another Daiwa Bank executive at the meeting.
We apologize for the mistake, and thank you for your correction.
