The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) ended Friday’s (17/7) trading session in positive territory, rising 1.10% to 6,175.54. The index’s gain was supported by increases in BBCA, BBRI, and BMRI as the main contributors, while declines in DCII, BREN, and BRMS limited the advance. Foreign investors recorded a net buy of Rp725.13 billion in the regular market and Rp638.57 billion across all markets. Seven of the eleven sectors closed higher, led by the financial sector which rose 2.34%, while the basic industry sector experienced the deepest decline at 0.50%. On the global front, major Wall Street indices closed lower, with the Dow Jones falling 0.77%, the S&P 500 correcting 1.01%, and the Nasdaq weakening 1.40%.

On the other hand, the implementation of the Price Impact Ratio (PIR) in the High Shareholding Concentration (HSC) methodology is considered to strengthen market liquidity quality and aligns with the Extreme Price Increase (EPI) aspect in the MSCI evaluation. This sentiment was reflected in the strengthening of the EIDO ETF by 2.05% and MSCI Indonesia by 2.97%.
