The social media accounts of ‘Daily LAZ’, which had been publicising the activities of Lalu Ahmad Zaini (LAZ), have suddenly vanished from search channels. The accounts, which had tens of thousands of followers on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, can no longer be accessed. LAZ is currently the non-active Regent of West Lombok after being caught in a sting operation (OTT) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of the National Mandate Party (PAN) for West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has also been named a suspect in an alleged corruption case.

The Chairman of the Regional Board of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) for NTB, Daud Azhari, has urged the KPK to also investigate the alleged flow of funds used to manage the Daily LAZ account. According to Daud, the disappearance of the Daily LAZ account after the suspect was named raises questions. ‘We are asking for that to be investigated as well,’ Daud said on Wednesday (22/7/2026).

Daud suspects the cooperation scheme for managing the social media account could be a mode to disguise the flow of funds. Moreover, the social media account disappeared after LAZ was named a corruption suspect. According to him, this suspicion needs to be proven through a KPK investigation. ‘There is something going on here, why did it disappear? It is reasonable to suspect that the flow of funds went there,’ Daud added.

Before disappearing, the Daily LAZ account was known to have uploaded a video of LAZ’s activities in his private garden. In the video, LAZ appeared to be showing off his harvest of tomatoes and eggplants. Not only the Daily LAZ account, but LAZ’s personal Facebook account under the name Lalu Ahmad Zaini was also locked after he was named a suspect. As a result, the account can no longer be accessed by netizens.

A day after the suspect was named, an issue emerged that the Daily LAZ account was managed by a special team formed during LAZ’s tenure as Regent of West Lombok. In addition, allegations circulated regarding a cooperation fund worth Rp 100 million for the management of the social media account. As is known, the KPK conducted a sting operation against Regent LAZ at his official residence on Monday (20/7). The KPK ultimately named three suspects: LAZ, the President Director of PT Air Minum Giri Menang (PT AMGM) Sudirman, and the President Director of PT Meconel Sistim Instrument (PT MSI) Alvonsus Gani. The KPK suspects LAZ received bribes related to a number of projects in West Lombok and engaged in a conflict of interest in the procurement of goods and services (PBJ). LAZ is suspected of having pre-arranged government projects by involving the President Director of PT AMGM Sudirman. The two allegedly conspired to condition the projects using other companies as a front so that the conflict of interest would not be detected. From this practice, LAZ is suspected of receiving money, goods, and facilities worth Rp 12.4 billion.
