Daihatsu Sales Grow 10 Percent, Gran Max and LCGC Models Most in Demand
Daihatsu vehicle sales showed an increase in August 2026. Daihatsu’s retail sales were recorded at 12,100 units, up around 10 per cent compared to the same period last year, which reached 11,008 units.
The growth was primarily supported by the Gran Max Series and Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) vehicles, namely the Daihatsu Sigra and Ayla. Combined, the three lines contributed around 80 per cent of Daihatsu’s total retail sales in August 2026.
The Gran Max Series was the largest contributor with sales of 5,944 units. This figure comprised 4,393 units of the Gran Max Pick Up and 1,551 units of the Gran Max Minibus.
Gran Max Series sales increased by around 3 per cent compared to August 2025, when they reached 5,748 units. With this achievement, Gran Max contributed roughly 49 per cent of Daihatsu’s overall retail sales this August.
Meanwhile, sales of the Daihatsu Sigra and Ayla reached 3,693 units combined. This grew by around 16 per cent compared to the same period in 2025, when sales of the two models stood at 3,180 units.
Beyond Gran Max and the LCGC line, the Daihatsu Terios also recorded sales growth. The SUV sold 1,315 units in August 2026, up around 13 per cent from its August 2025 sales of 1,168 units.
Other models recorded smaller sales. The All New Xenia sold 619 units, followed by the Luxio with 252 units, the Rocky with 185 units, and the Sirion with 11 units.
Viewed by product character, these results illustrate the contribution of commercial and passenger vehicles to Daihatsu’s sales. Gran Max was the model with the largest sales volume, whilst Sigra and Ayla recorded higher annual growth.
Marketing Director and Corporate Function Director of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, Rokky Irvayandi, said the August sales increase showed that demand for vehicles for business needs and family mobility remained resilient.
“The growth in Daihatsu’s sales this August signals that public demand for functional vehicles suited to people’s activities remains strong. Gran Max continues to be the choice for supporting various business needs, whilst Daihatsu’s LCGC models have also shown positive growth as vehicles that support family mobility,” Rokky said in a statement.
According to Rokky, Daihatsu will continue to adapt its products and services to the evolving needs of consumers in Indonesia. He said the company would maintain this focus in the coming periods.
“Going forward, we will continue to deliver products and services relevant to the needs of the Indonesian people,” Rokky said.
