Daihatsu Donates Best-Selling Vehicle to Support Education in Sumba
Jakarta – Demonstrating its commitment to improving community welfare, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) has donated one unit of a Gran Max pickup vehicle.
The Gran Max pickup will be utilised as operational transport for the Astra Foundation – Astra Education Foundation Michael D. Ruslim (YA-YPAMDR) in East Sumba, Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT).
This initiative forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme supporting community empowerment and the improvement of welfare and education across various regions, including Sumba.
“For ADM, sustainability is not only about business development, but also about how the company can create positive impact for society. This support for operational vehicles is expected to strengthen joint development activities so that benefits can be felt more widely and sustainably,” Ferry stated in an official statement on Wednesday (11 March 2026).
The best-selling Daihatsu vehicle will support operational activities at the partnered school, State Vocational School 1 Pandawai in East Sumba, NTT, serving as transport for the distribution of livestock products produced by students of the Poultry Agribusiness programme (ATU).
Currently, the school has a total of 288 students divided across 13 learning groups from various programmes. The ATU programme specifically has approximately 100 students engaged in practice-based learning activities.
Gunawan Sali, Chairman of YA-YPAMDR, also appreciated the synergy established between various parties in supporting education development and community empowerment in the partnership region.
“This collaboration strengthens our efforts in assisting the school and community. Support from ADM helps us reach more community empowerment programmes effectively,” Gunawan said.
