Daihatsu captures 17.4 percent market share in May 2026
PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) recorded an increase in its national market share to 17.4 percent in May 2026, alongside retail sales growth reaching 12,531 units. According to company data, this achievement represents a 25 percent increase compared to Daihatsu’s retail sales in the same period the previous year. Marketing Director and Corporate Communication Director of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, Sri Agung Handayani, stated that the market share increase reflects consumer confidence in Daihatsu products across various vehicle segments. The company noted that approximately 99 percent of Daihatsu vehicles marketed in Indonesia are domestically produced, a condition seen as reflecting the company’s contribution to the development of the national automotive industry. This segment has long been one of the largest markets in Indonesia’s automotive industry, targeting consumers who prioritise affordable and efficient vehicles. In terms of product mix, the largest contribution to Daihatsu’s sales up to May 2026 continued to be supported by commercial and passenger vehicles. ADM considers that a combination of competitive pricing, fuel efficiency, economical ownership costs, and extensive after-sales service network support has driven the competitiveness of Daihatsu products in the domestic market. To maintain sales momentum in the first half of the year, Daihatsu is also introducing a ‘Midyear Surprise Deal’ promotion running until 31 July 2026. The programme offers various purchase incentives, including trade-in packages, special credit programmes, price discounts, and the chance to win a specially modified Daihatsu car. ‘Daihatsu continues to be committed to providing vehicles that meet consumer needs,’ she said.
