Dahnil reminds Hajj officials not to show off while on duty in the Holy Land
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak has reminded Hajj officials to remain focused on their service duties to pilgrims and to avoid showing off (flexing) while on duty in the Holy Land.
“I hope that fellow officials focus on their tasks to accompany and protect the pilgrims. So there’s no need to flex or show off activities,” Dahnil said after the farewell assembly for Hajj officials at the Pondok Gede Hajj Hostel in Jakarta on Friday.
Dahnil advised them to regard this sacred mission as a field for seeking the pleasure of Allah SWT, through tireless duties and an open heart in guiding pilgrims to achieve their successful pilgrimage.
“But for da’wah, I think we encourage them to engage in da’wah, meaning to inform and educate; we even recommend that all officials conduct education via social media, sharing good news,” he said.
“Then ensure that good and necessary information for the pilgrims reaches the pilgrims and their families,” he added.
“Dedicate yourselves fully to fulfilling your duties in the Holy Land. This is a sacred mission, for yourselves, your families, and your religion,” Dahnil stated.
In commencing the 2026 Hajj mission, around 400 Hajj officials will begin departing for the Holy Land on Friday. They will serve as the advance team to ensure the readiness of services to welcome Allah’s guests.
The departing Hajj officials are those assigned to the Madinah Work Area (Daker) and Airports. Meanwhile, the first batch of pilgrim groups (kloter) will start departing on 22 April 2026.
