Dahnil Anzar Ensures Readiness of Hajj Pilgrims' Healthcare Services in Mecca
Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak inspected the readiness of Hajj healthcare service partners in Mecca as part of efforts to ensure optimal services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. “Hajj health issues are a primary concern year after year, considering that around 25 percent of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are elderly and 177,000 others fall into the high-risk category. Therefore, the healthcare service model must undergo significant changes,” Dahnil stated in a comment in Jakarta on Monday (30/3/2026). On that occasion, Dahnil visited the Saudi German Hospital, which will collaborate with the Hajj Health Centre and Hajj healthcare personnel in serving Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. He emphasised that health issues remain the main focus in organising the Hajj pilgrimage each year, especially given the high number of elderly pilgrims and those with elevated health risks. As a concrete step, the government will maximise the presence of satellite clinics in sectors and introduce mobile clinics in the Armuzna area to strengthen healthcare services and monitoring for pilgrims.
