Dago Dairy Cattle Farm Announces Closure, Struggles to Find Workers

Dago Dairy has announced it will officially close its cattle farm in Mekarwangi Village, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency (KBB), West Java. The closure comes after the farm struggled to find workers for two years.

The farewell announcement from Dago Dairy was delivered directly by its owner Mark Hallet and his wife, Yanti, via the Instagram account @dago_dairy. They admitted to having difficulty finding workers to manage the farm.

Their two children also did not wish to continue the farming business. This situation meant the farm work had to be handled with limited manpower.

“Sadly, we would like to announce that Dago Dairy is closing. For almost two years we have been short of staff,” said Mark and his wife, as quoted by Republika on Saturday (29/8/2026).

Dago Dairy faced challenges due to the lack of workers to manage the cattle. Over the past two years, Mark and his wife attempted to find workers to care for and manage the cows and their pens, but no one was interested.

The limited workforce meant Mark had to work extra hours, leaving him exhausted. Meanwhile, his children, who are currently in Australia, reportedly did not wish to continue the cattle farming business.

“Young people are not interested in working on a farm and Mark has had to work two shifts. I (Mark) have no time to care for the cows properly or repair the pens. And both our sons live in Australia. They love Indonesia but do not want to continue the farm,” Mark and his wife explained.
