Daewoo halt some production

SEOUL: Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Corp. and Daewoo Bus recently
suspended some of their production lines as their part supplier
Tongil Heavy Industries Co. suffers from a prolonged strike, the
Korea Economic Daily reports.

Daewoo Bus halted operations of one of its two bus production
lines on Friday, and will likely stop the other line soon as it
runs out of key auto parts, the newspaper says.

Daewoo Commercial Vehicle also has suspended some truck
operations at its Kunsan plant since Tuesday, the paper says.

Tongil Heavy, a supplier of wheel axles and transmissions,
halted operations due to its workers' strike.

Daewoo Commercial and Daewoo Bus were spun off from Daewoo
Motor Co. as part of the carmaker's restructuring. -Dow Jones
