The Indonesian Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, stated that allegations regarding the illegal trading of Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) within the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme are currently undergoing an internal audit. He made this statement when responding to questions regarding whether these allegations were a primary reason for the removal of the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana.

“Everything is currently in the process of an internal audit. This is part of, once again, the continuous monitoring and evaluation that we conduct,” Prasetyo said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/6).

Prasetyo noted that the government is continuously striving to improve and optimise the performance of the BGN in executing its duties and functions moving forward. He also mentioned that the leadership change within the BGN is a form of monitoring and evaluation by President Prabowo. He added that several observations served as the basis for President Prabowo’s decision to implement this change, with the hope that these issues can be rectified immediately.

“There are issues concerning discipline in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), issues regarding discipline in governance, and discipline in maintaining the quality of food that should have been established by the National Nutrition Agency. These factors were the basis for consideration,” he said.

At the same time, Prasetyo ensured that the leadership change within the BGN would not disrupt the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal programme. He stated that the MBG programme must continue to run, and services to all beneficiaries must not be interrupted. He requested that all BGN personnel continue to work as required, in accordance with their duties and functions.

On Tuesday (2/6), President Prabowo implemented a leadership rotation within the BGN. Dadan Hindayana was removed as Head of the BGN and replaced by Naniek S. Deyang, who previously served as the Deputy Head of the BGN. Changes also occurred at the Deputy Head level, with Lodewyk Pusung and Sonny Sonjaya removed from their positions. Simultaneously, two new figures, BPKP Deputy Agustina Arumsari and PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara Deputy Director Major General (Rtd) Trenggono, were appointed as the new Deputy Heads of the BGN.
