Dadan Officially Removed, Government Ensures BGN Evaluation Will Continue
The Indonesian Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, has emphasised that the government will continue to conduct an in-depth evaluation of the performance and institutional structure of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). This policy of periodic evaluation coincides with the decisive steps taken by President Prabowo Subianto, who has recently implemented a change in the agency’s top leadership.
He stated that this internal evaluation process is being conducted to ensure the strengthening of institutional performance and the precision of programme targets. Despite the rigorous evaluation currently underway, the government guarantees that all operational functions of the BGN will remain active and will not stall.
“On this occasion, we also wish to convey that the government will continue to ensure that throughout the ongoing evaluation process, all programmes of the National Nutrition Agency continue to run as they should,” said Prasetyo Hadi during a press conference at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
He emphasised that public service remains the top priority and must not be compromised during this period of transition and evaluation. “Service to the community must not be disrupted at all, and every work unit within the National Nutrition Agency is expected to continue performing their duties according to their respective responsibilities,” he asserted.
He also expressed hope that the change in BGN leadership would make the institution more accountable, efficient, and capable of realising the government’s major targets in improving national nutritional status.
It is reported that President Prabowo Subianto officially removed Dadan Hindayana from his position as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) on Tuesday, 2 June 2026. In addition to Dadan, the Head of State also removed Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sanjaya as Deputy Heads of the BGN.
“Mr. Lodewyk Pusung as Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency. The third, Mr. Sony Sanjaya as Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency,” said Prasetyo.
During the announcement, Prabowo appointed Nanik S. Deyang as the Head of the BGN, replacing Dadan. Furthermore, Prabowo appointed Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono as Deputy Heads of the BGN, replacing Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sanjaya.
He explained that this leadership reshuffle within the BGN was carried out by Prabowo after monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the free nutritious meal (MBG) programme, which has been running for 1.5 years.
