Dadan Hindayana Lied! Claimed BGN Electric Motorcycle Price Below Market, Now Proven Marked Up
Jakarta – The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has officially named former head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, along with his two former deputies, Sony Sanjaya and Lodewyk Pusung, as suspects in a corruption case linked to the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme.
One of the corruption methods used by the former BGN leadership was marking up procurement projects within the agency, including the procurement of electric motorcycles for the MBG programme. In this case of irregularities, Dadan and his associates were proven to have inflated or marked up the budget for the MBG electric motorcycle procurement project. The budget for 21,801 electric motorcycle units reached Rp1 trillion.
Beyond the electric motorcycles, Dadan and his associates also allegedly marked up the budget for the procurement of 32,000 pairs of shoes, over 31,000 tablet units, and 5,400 75-inch televisions. All of these projects are suspected to be problematic due to non-compliance with regulations and indications of price mark-ups.
“The procurement of 21,801 electric motorcycles with a total procurement value of approximately Rp1 trillion,” stated the Director of Investigation (Dirdik) for the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Wednesday, 3 June 2026. “This case has resulted in state financial losses,” he continued.
Dadan Hindayana previously explained that the motorcycle procurement was part of the 2025 budget planning and was intended to support the operations of the Free Nutritious Meal programme, specifically for the Heads of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG). “This motorcycle procurement is indeed included in the 2025 budget. Its function is to support the operations of the SPPG Heads,” Dadan said in an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, 7 April 2026.
However, Dadan confirmed that the motorcycles had not yet been distributed to the relevant parties. According to him, the vehicles that were already available still had to undergo an administrative process as State-Owned Assets (BMN) before they could be used.
Dadan had previously stated that the price of one electric motorcycle unit purchased for the SPPG Heads was valued at Rp42 million. Dadan asserted that this price was far below the market price, which at the time reached Rp52 million.
