Da Costa crushed in the semis
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's hope Sebastian Da Costa bowed out to fifth seed Aisam Qureshi of Pakistan 6-4, 6-2 in Saturday's semifinals of the US$15,000 Indonesia Futures F5 at the Danamon tennis complex in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
Indonesia's top partnership of Febi Widhiyanto and Hendri Susilo Pramono also doused the hopes of a title in the men's double after they were defeated by top seed players Thomas Shimada of Japan and Myles Wakefield of South Africa 6-2, 6-3.
With this result, none of the local players will perform in Sunday's final. Qureshi will meet second seed Danai Udomchoke of Thailand.
Udomchoke had given a good lesson to qualifier Steven Byl of the Netherlands by beating him 6-0, 6-0, Antara reported on Saturday.
Shimada and Wakefield will face second seeds Satoshi Iwabuchi and Hideki Kaneko of Japan in the final on Sunday. Iwabuchi and Kaneko overwhelmed Thai's partnership of Suparath Chukwan and Ekharin Pisuth Arnonth. (ivy)
