Czech-RI business meeting
JAKARTA (JP): Some 48 businessmen representing 36 Czech companies will gather at the World Trade Center here next Monday to engage in one-on-one meetings to forge potential commercial relations with Indonesian counterparts.
Czech Ambassador Jaroslav Olsa said here yesterday that meetings will coincide with the three day Indonesian visit of Czech Prime Minister Vaclav Klaus, who will arrive here yesterday under the invitation of President Soeharto.
Apart from Soeharto, Klaus is also scheduled to meet with Coordinating Minister for Industry and Trade Hartarto during his stay here.
Trade between the two countries last year reached US$30 million, the Czech republic having a $4 million trade surplus.
Jozef Piga, first secretary at the Czech embassy in Jakarta, estimates that total bilateral trade this year will increase to $35 million.
Among the 36 Czech companies represented at the meeting will be Skoda Diesel A.S., a producer of diesel and gas engines, Tatra A.S., a maker of heavy-duty trucks with gross sales of over US$180 million in 1993, and the S.R.B. CR Ltd., which deals with industrial pipeline construction.
To coincide with Prime Minister Klaus' trip here, a cement production seminar will also be held by the Nitro Consulting Group at the Hotel Borobudur Inter-Continental.(mds)
