A cyclist was allegedly extorted by a motorcyclist in Cipinang Melayu, Makasar, East Jakarta. The motorcyclist reportedly pretended to be hit by the cyclist and then demanded compensation money.

From a circulating video, the cyclist was initially seen riding on the road shoulder. Two perpetrators on a motorcycle then intercepted the victim.

"You are at fault, you are at fault. He wanted to go straight, he was going fast, bro, I wanted to turn," said the motorcyclist.

It was narrated that the suspect allegedly deliberately fell or pretended to be hit as the cyclist passed. He then insisted on being paid compensation.

"I want compensation, I am bleeding," the motorcyclist said.

The video also showed the suspect acting arrogantly, pushing the cyclist until he fell. Several people at the scene appeared to be trying to break up the altercation.

Makasar Police Chief Kompol Sumardi stated that the police are investigating the information. The police have not yet identified the cyclist victim.

"We have checked the location, but so far we have not found the aggrieved party," Sumardi said.

The police have urged the victim to file a police report. Even without a formal report, the police are continuing their investigation into the matter.

"If there is an aggrieved party, please file a police report," he said.
