Cyber University Students Learn HR Tech at DataOn

The Information Systems and Technology programme at Cyber University (Universitas Siber Indonesia) held an industry visit to PT Indodev Niaga Internasional (DataOn) in Ciputat, South Tangerang, on Friday (17/7/2026). The activity served as a means for students to learn about the direct implementation of information technology in the industry, specifically in the field of Human Resource Technology (HR Tech).

Head of the Information Systems and Technology programme at Cyber University, Neneng Rachmalia Feta, stated that industry visits are a crucial part of the student learning process. She believes that direct experience within a company can help students understand the application of theories learned in the classroom. She stressed the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and industry to prepare graduates who can adapt to the needs of the digital workforce.

‘Through this industry visit, students not only gain insight into the implementation of information technology in the industry but also get a real picture of professional work culture and the competencies needed in the era of digital transformation,’ Feta said. She added that the industry currently requires digital talent who not only possess technical skills but can also understand business needs and rapid technological developments.

‘Students need to see firsthand how technology is developed and utilised to solve various company needs. This experience is an important provision before they enter the workforce,’ she said. According to her, the activity is also part of the university’s efforts to provide learning that is relevant to industry needs. ‘We want students to have a more contextual learning experience. Collaboration with industry allows them to understand the challenges, opportunities, and competencies that are truly needed today,’ Feta said.

Feta hopes that such activities can continue to strengthen the relationship between education and industry. She confirmed this is part of the implementation of the Company Learning Program (CLP) 3+1 for Cyber University students, where they study for three years and undertake a one-year internship with partner industries. ‘We are committed to providing learning experiences that are relevant to industry needs so that students are better prepared to become competent and adaptive digital talent in the future,’ she said.

Following the opening, participants were welcomed by DataOn’s Chief Operating Officer, Yus Wadi. He appreciated the visit from Cyber University students and emphasised the importance of developing digital talent capable of adapting to technological advancements. Students then attended a company introduction session delivered by HR Supervisor Angelina Christanty, where they were introduced to the company’s profile, work culture, and career development opportunities at DataOn as a provider of technology-based Human Capital Management solutions.

In the main session, Project Manager for HR Development, Famil Restu Pambudi, delivered a ‘Tech Talk’ on the implementation of technology and IT systems in the industry. He explained how DataOn develops digital solutions to support human resource management, from understanding customer needs and the product development process to utilising the latest technology and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in HR system transformation. The series of activities continued with an office tour, allowing students to become more familiar with DataOn’s work environment, see the company’s operational areas, and experience the atmosphere of working in a technology company firsthand. The event concluded with the presentation of a plaque from Cyber University to DataOn as a token of appreciation for the collaboration, followed by a group photo session.
