Cyber University and JFX Discuss Secure Trading in the Digital Era
Cyber University, in collaboration with PT Bursa Berjangka Jakarta (JFX), organised a talkshow themed “Building a Transparent, Safe, and Integrity-driven Trading Ecosystem in the Digital Era”. The event took place at the Cyber University hall in South Jakarta on Tuesday, 13 May 2026, with the objective of increasing financial literacy and understanding of digital investment among students amidst rapid fintech developments.
The talkshow featured the Director of PT Bursa Berjangka Jakarta (JFX), Nuly Nazlia, alongside academics from Cyber University. Representing the Rector of Cyber University, Vice Rector Dr Ing Agus Trihandoyo emphasised that understanding digital investment is now essential not only for economics and business students but also for those in information technology. He noted that the modern trading industry increasingly relies on technologies such as data analytics, blockchain, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Dr Agus explained that while technological advancements offer significant opportunities for the younger generation to engage in the digital investment ecosystem, they also present new challenges, including investment fraud, personal data breaches, and cybersecurity threats. He asserted that a healthy trading ecosystem must prioritise transparency, governance, consumer protection, and digital literacy. Consequently, collaboration between universities and industry is vital to strengthen practical-based learning.
“We want students to not only understand theory but also possess practical insights into legal, safe, and responsible investment. The future financial industry requires human resources who understand not just business, but also technology, risk management, and digital ethics,” Dr Agus stated.
He also highlighted the importance of introducing futures trading to students. He noted that while many young people are familiar with stocks and crypto assets, they often lack an understanding of the more complex mechanisms of futures trading, including the use of leverage. He urged students to be smart investors, warning them not to be lured by high profits without understanding the underlying risks.
Nuly Nazlia, Director of PT Bursa Berermaga Jakarta (JFX), expressed appreciation for the partnership with Cyber University in building financial literacy within the academic environment. She stated that the synergy between education and industry is a crucial step in preparing the younger generation for the digital economic transformation.
“We highly appreciate Cyber University’s initiative in providing such an educational space. Financial literacy must be built from an early age so that students are prepared for the professional world, particularly in the commodity futures trading sector,” said Nuly.
Nuly added that the futures trading industry is not only an investment space but also offers vast career opportunities for the youth, particularly for those skilled in information technology, data security, and digital transformation. She also reminded students to verify the legality of companies before investing, noting that literacy is the primary defence against the widespread illegal investment practices in the digital era.
