Cyber Security Underpins Digital Economy, ABI Encourages Public Education
The Indonesian Blockchain Association (ABI), represented by PINTU, participated in the Digital Safe Festival 2026 organised by the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Office. The event, themed ‘Cross-Sector Collaboration for the Success of National Cyber Security Literacy’, highlighted the importance of strengthening cyber security literacy to maintain trust in the digital economy. The forum brought together central and regional governments, financial institutions, communities, and technology industry players to strengthen collaboration in facing evolving cyber threats. BSSN Director of Security Operations and Information Control, Satryo Suryantoro, stated that the 90-Day National Movement for Cyber Security Literacy is part of the implementation of the National Action Plan for Cyber Security. ‘The success of cyber security literacy cannot be achieved by a single institution. Active involvement is needed from all stakeholders, including ministries and agencies, regional governments, law enforcement, the education sector, communities, businesses, the media, and the public,’ Satryo said. Head of the DKI Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency, Marulina Dewi, said cross-sector collaboration is necessary to anticipate the increasing cyber threats that have the potential to disrupt public and business activities. ‘Cyber attacks today are no longer just about systems going down, but have targeted human psychology through social engineering, personal data leaks, and rampant disinformation,’ Marulina said. Meanwhile, OJK Deputy Director of Consumer Protection and Secretary of the PASTI Task Force, Daniel Apriandi, said low digital literacy remains the main gap exploited by cybercriminals. ‘The 25-49 age group is the most productive and also the most targeted by fraudsters because they are the most active in digital transactions. Phishing and social engineering modes continue to rise, exacerbated by the use of AI and deepfakes that can now imitate a victim’s face, voice, and even body language,’ Daniel said.
