Customs Seize Narcotics from Three Malaysian Women at Soetta Airport

Customs officers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport have seized ketamine and other narcotics from three female passengers suspected of being Malaysian nationals. The illicit substances were concealed in toiletry bags and shoes.

The incident occurred at Terminal 2F International Arrivals on Monday, 3 August. The three women, identified by the initials WLSN, TKL, and HBN, had arrived on a flight from Kinabalu.

The enforcement action began when Behaviour Detection Officers became suspicious. The passengers were subsequently directed to the red channel for a thorough examination.

A statement from Customs detailed the concealment methods: ‘Carried in toiletry bags within suitcases, in wallets, inside medicine packaging, jacket pockets, and within the shoes they were wearing.’

Officers secured a total of 0.5 grams of ash suspected to be cocaine, 0.3 grams of ash suspected to be cocaine, 2 grams of powder suspected to be cocaine, 4.2 grams of pills suspected to be MDMA, 1.8 grams of powder suspected to be ketamine, 2.4 grams of pills suspected to be MDMA, 16.9 grams of rolled tobacco suspected to be mixed with ketamine, 1.4 grams of white powder suspected to be cocaine, and one cartridge suspected to contain ketamine.

Sample tests have been conducted on the seized items. Customs has also coordinated with the Narcotics Unit of the Soetta Airport Police.
