Customs Seize 26 kg of Ecstasy Allegedly Smuggled by Foreign Pilot at Soekarno-Hatta
A foreign airline pilot was caught carrying ecstasy at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The amount of ecstasy brought in was no less than 26 kilograms. According to information obtained, the pilot, with the initials MSO, was detected by Customs officers at Terminal 3 International Arrivals on Wednesday, 29 July 2026. The illicit goods carried by MSO were detected by X-ray. The 26 kg of ecstasy consisted of 14 packages stored inside MSO’s suitcase. Following this discovery, Customs is cooperating with the police to follow up, as MSO stated that someone was going to collect the goods. When asked for confirmation, the Head of the Public Relations and Counselling Sub-directorate of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Budi Prasetyo, said he was still checking. “Let me double-check first, give me some time,” said Budi on Thursday (30/7/2026). “Looking at its status, which is in the process of a controlled delivery, it seems we can only release information after it is uncovered or the controlled delivery process is complete,” added Budi.
