Customs Opens CPNS Recruitment for High School Graduates, 300 Positions for Field Staff
The Ministry of Finance will open recruitment for prospective civil servants (CPNS) at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) for high school graduates. This vacancy is planned to open soon with a quota of around 300 people. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the need for field personnel is the main reason for accelerating the recruitment. “It has been delayed for several months. I request that it be executed immediately because we need personnel at Customs and Excise, especially for technical field work. It is likely to open next month,” said Purbaya at the Ministry of Finance Canteen on Tuesday (7/4/2026). According to him, the recruited high school graduates will be placed as field personnel in various regions of Indonesia. This role is considered important for strengthening customs supervision and services that directly interact with community activities and business actors. For the public, especially high school graduates, the opening of this formation provides an opportunity to enter the government sector without having to wait for higher education levels. On the other hand, the government is also striving to strengthen field services that have long required operational personnel. Meanwhile, the government is also preparing broader CPNS recruitment in 2026. Minister for State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini mentioned that the formation needs are estimated to reach around 160,000 people. “We already have the data, around 160,000,” said Rini. However, she emphasised that the number is still indicative. Each ministry and agency is asked to map real needs, including the competencies required in line with the government’s priority programmes. “The most important thing is the competencies. They must be adjusted to the ministry’s strategy and the president’s priority programmes,” she said.
