Customs Launches Electronic Non-Cash Guarantee, Making Customs Services Faster and More Modern
Jakarta, VIVA – The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) continues to drive digital transformation in the customs sector through the launch of the Electronic Non-Cash Guarantee Usage Initiative Programme. This programme was introduced by the Type A Tanjung Priok Main Customs Service Office (KPU) on 29 April 2026 in Jakarta as a concrete step to improve the efficiency and quality of services.
The launch took place in the Synergy Room on the fifth floor of the KPU Bea and Cukai Tanjung Priok and was broadcast live via the YouTube channel of Bea Cukai Priok. The event involved various strategic stakeholders, including DJBC officials, regional offices in Jakarta, West Java, and Banten, as well as representatives from banks, insurance companies, and export-import businesses.
This initiative stems from the need to simplify customs business processes that have previously relied on physical documents. The use of conventional guarantee warrants is considered inefficient due to the manual delivery process, which is time-consuming, costly, and risks document damage or loss.
Through integration with the CEISA 4.0 system, all guarantee processes are now conducted electronically and in real-time. Guarantors can directly submit documents digitally, while Customs performs quick validation without waiting for physical documents.
Moreover, the previous three-working-day deadline for document submission is no longer an obstacle. Through this system, the Guarantee Usage Permit process can be completed instantly after the Guarantee Receipt Proof (BPJ) is issued.
This certainly provides convenience for businesses in carrying out logistics and international trade activities more efficiently.
Head of the Type A Tanjung Priok Main Customs Service Office, Adhang Noegroho Adhi, emphasised the importance of collaboration in supporting the smooth implementation of this programme. “Customs has a strategic role in supporting state revenues. Therefore, strong synergy with all parties is needed to maintain the smooth flow of logistics and improve service quality for service users,” he stated.
In the future, the implementation of electronic non-cash guarantees is expected to have a significant impact on the business climate in Indonesia. With a system that no longer relies on the mobility of physical documents, company operations become more effective and efficient.
