SEMARANG — The Central Java and Yogyakarta Regional Office of Customs has issued a bonded-zone facility permit to PT Harmoni Cahaya Indonesia. The manufacturing company is based in Grobogan Regency, Central Java, and received the permit on 19 October 2026.

The company’s main product is artificial Christmas trees, primarily for export to the United States. The bonded-zone facility is one of the regional Customs office’s strategic measures in its role as a trade facilitator and supporter of industry.

The facility provides the company with legal certainty and fiscal efficiencies, including deferred import duties. It also exempts the company from import-related taxes on raw materials processed for export.

“We expect this facility to cut logistics costs, speed up business processes and improve the competitiveness of local products in international markets,” said Agus Yulianto, head of the Central Java and Yogyakarta Regional Office of Customs.

PT Harmoni Cahaya Indonesia’s presence in Grobogan Regency is expected to have a significant economic impact on the surrounding area. In its initial phase in 2026, the company’s investment was recorded at Rp528,950,000,000 and is projected to increase to Rp696,054,094,840 by 2030.

In addition to providing substantial investment, the company’s operations are directly supporting the recovery and improvement of local livelihoods through job creation. In 2026, PT Harmoni Cahaya Indonesia employed 698 local workers.

As the company plans to expand its business and increase production capacity, its workforce is projected to grow steadily to 3,030 by 2030. The employment of thousands of local people is expected to boost Grobogan’s economy and generate wider benefits for supporting businesses in the area.

Agus said he was optimistic that investment in Central Java would continue to grow, supported by ongoing guidance and assistance for export-oriented industries. Cross-sector co-operation is being strengthened to boost the regional economy.

“Strong collaboration between government agencies and businesses is expected to enhance the competitiveness of national manufactured products and establish Grobogan Regency as one of Central Java’s new centres of economic growth,” Agus said.
