Customs Intensifies Supervision, Seizes Rp 7.71 Trillion in Illegal Goods

Indonesia’s Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) at the Ministry of Finance has carried out 11,542 enforcement actions against the circulation of illegal goods in the first five months of 2026. The value of the illegal goods successfully seized amounted to Rp 7.71 trillion.

Director General of Customs and Excise Djaka Budhi Utama stated that the total enforcement actions against illegal goods covered illicit cigarettes, illegal export and import goods that disrupt the domestic business climate, and narcotics.

“As of May 2027, DJBC has conducted 11,542 enforcement actions with a total goods value of Rp 7.71 trillion,” Djaka said during a working meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Monday (15/6/2026).

For illicit cigarettes, the number of enforcement actions reached 6,880 as of May 2026, with 865 million sticks confiscated. Meanwhile, narcotics seizures amounted to 3.81 tonnes of evidence.

As for illegal export goods, the value of those successfully intercepted was Rp 1.14 billion, from 234 enforcement actions. Meanwhile, illegal imports seized were valued at Rp 5.15 billion, from 4,093 enforcement actions.

“DJBC continues to strengthen its supervisory function through inter-agency synergy to protect the public, support state revenue, and maintain a healthy business climate,” Djaka said.
