The Director General of Customs and Excise, Djaka Budi Utama, announced that his agency has imposed an administrative fine of approximately Rp98 billion on the jewellery company Tiffany & Co. He stated that the audit process conducted by the Directorate of Customs and Excise Audit has been completed, and the authorities are currently awaiting the settlement of the fine.

“As of now, the audit has been conducted, and we are simply waiting for the payment from Tiffany & Co as the due date has not yet arrived. We have imposed a fine of around Rp97 billion,” Djaka said during the APBN KiTa June 2026 press conference in Jakarta on Friday.

It was previously reported that the Jakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise sealed three Tiffany & Co outlets due to alleged administrative violations related to goods importation. The three sealed stores are located in Plaza Senayan, Plaza Indonesia, and Pacific Place, Jakarta.

Siswo Kristyanto, Head of the Enforcement Section at the Jakarta Regional Office of Customs and Excise, stated that the agency conducted operations targeting high-value goods that were allegedly not fully declared in the import notification documents. This practice is known as under-invoicing, or reporting an import value lower than the actual value.

“We conducted operations regarding high-value goods, where we suspect there were items not declared in the import notification documents,” said Siswo. According to Siswo, the company’s owners and management have been given the opportunity to provide explanations to the Jakarta Regional Office of Customs and Excise regarding these findings. He also noted that similar enforcement actions could be taken against other luxury jewellery stores in Jakarta if indications of violations are discovered.
