As a manifestation of its commitment to supporting domestic industry growth, the Central Java and Yogyakarta Regional Customs Office granted the Kemudahan Impor Tujuan Ekspor (KITE) Exemption facility to PT Guna Citra Kartika on Monday (16/3/2026).

PT Guna Citra Kartika is a company engaged in the processing and preservation of fish and aquatic organisms in cans, with its primary export market targeting the United States. Through the KITE Exemption facility, the company receives exemptions from import duties and is not subject to taxes on imports of raw materials that will be further processed into export products.

The granting of this facility is expected to increase production cost efficiency, making Indonesian fishery products more competitive in the international market. With stronger competitiveness, opportunities for increasing the export volume of national fishery products are hoped to widen further.

PT Guna Citra Kartika is recorded to have an investment value of Rp 25.7 billion in the fishery product processing sector. In addition to contributing to increased exports, the presence of this company also has a positive impact on the regional economy by absorbing around 230 local workers. This number is projected to continue increasing in line with the company’s production capacity development.

The Head of the Central Java and D.I. Yogyakarta Regional Customs Office, Agus Yulianto, stated that the granting of the KITE Exemption facility is a form of government support for export-oriented businesses. “This facility is expected to enhance the competitiveness of the national industry in the international market, expand exports of Indonesian fishery products, and provide a multiplier effect on the regional economy through increased investment and employment absorption,” he said.

Through the provision of this facility, Customs continues to carry out its role as industrial assistance by providing conveniences and support to business actors. It is hoped that more companies will utilise the facilities provided by the government to strengthen the domestic industry, increase exports, and open up more job opportunities for the community.
