Customs Foil Narcotics Parcel Shipment Attempt in Palu
Bea Cukai, as a community protector, reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the public from illegal and dangerous goods through narcotics enforcement linked to parcel shipments in Palu.
A joint team comprising Pantoloan Customs, the Ditresnarkoba of the Polda Sulawesi Tengah, and the BNN Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah conducted enforcement against a shipment package at a courier warehouse in Kecamatan Palu Selatan, Kota Palu, on Tuesday 12 May 2026.
The enforcement stemmed from intelligence received by the Penindakan dan Penyidikan (P2) Team of Bea Cukai Pantoloan regarding suspected narcotics shipments from Kota Medan with destination Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, described as spare parts.
Based on officers’ examinations, the shipment contained three pieces of Schedule I narcotics, cannabis, with a total weight of about two kilograms. Following the discovery, officers immediately coordinated with Subdit 3 Ditresnarkoba Polda Sulawesi Tengah and the BNN Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah for further handling.
Head of Internal Compliance and Outreach Section of Pantoloan Customs, Galih Seno Prabowo, revealed that the enforcement could potentially save around 4,000 youths from the dangers of narcotics abuse.
This enforcement, he noted, is a tangible manifestation of the synergy between Bea Cukai and law-enforcement agencies in eradicating narcotics circulation in Central Sulawesi.
‘Looking ahead, it is hoped that collaboration and collective vigilance can be further enhanced to protect the public, particularly the younger generation, from the threat of narcotics and other illegal goods,’ concluded Galih in a statement on Thursday (21 May 2026).
