Customs duties receipts rebound in April 2026, Purbaya posts Rp100.6 trillion
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa revealed that customs and excise revenue were able to reverse their direction to grow positively in April 2026, after three months of contraction compared with the previous year.
According to the data, total customs and excise revenue in April 2026 amounted to Rp100.6 trillion, or 0.6% higher than the same period last year of Rp67.9 trillion. Previously, January saw a -14% contraction, February fell by 14.7%, and March was still down 12.6%.
‘Now it is positive 0.6% and going forward it will be even more positive, so there is indeed an improvement in export-import activity and other things,’ Purbaya said at the APBN Kinerja dan Fakta press conference, Jakarta, Tuesday (16/5/2026).
Purbaya said the main contributor to the rise in customs receipts came from excise receipts worth Rp74.8 trillion, up 2.2% from the same period last year, due to increased cigarette production in Q1-2026.
Then, import duties also grew strongly by 6.4% with a realization of Rp16.4 trillion in April 2026. This was due to increased import duty on LPG commodities and project needs.
Only outward customs receipts (export duties) were still low through April 2026, with a realization contraction of 17.5% as collections stood at Rp9.3 trillion, compared with Rp11.3 trillion last year.
