Customs Director General Djaka Summoned by Prabowo to the Palace
The Director General of Customs of the Ministry of Finance, Djaka Budi Utama, was summoned by President Prabowo Subianto to the State Palace on Tuesday (22/09/2026) at 15:40 WIB. He appeared to arrive alone, walking towards the palace gates while wearing his full Customs uniform.
When questioned by journalists, he declined to disclose the reason for the summons. When asked about the meeting to be held with the President, he stated, “I do not know yet.”
At present, the President, along with several ministers and heads of agencies, is conducting a limited meeting regarding plans for the development of the textile and footwear industries. The meeting was attended by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board/CEO of Danantara Indonesia Rosan Roeslani, the Head of State-Owned Enterprises/COO of Danantara Indonesia Dony Oskaria, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, and the Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Arif Satria.
Previously, Finance Minister Suahasil held a special meeting with the President and provided a press statement regarding the full repayment of all Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) bond debts to Bank Indonesia (BI), which were issued during the 1997-1998 economic crisis. The total value of the BLBI bonds issued by the government as debt to BI reached Rp218.3 trillion. The final payment was made on 24 August 2026, using Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) derived from Bank Indonesia’s surplus.
However, after providing the press statement, Suahasil left the Palace immediately and did not participate in the meeting regarding the textile industry.
