The Magelang Customs and Excise Office designated PT Shoenary Javanesia Inc (SJI), a footwear manufacturing company located in Temanggung Regency, as a Self-Service Bonded Zone on Thursday (25/6/2026). This designation represents a form of government trust in the company, which is deemed to have met compliance requirements and possesses a reliable information technology-based monitoring system. A Self-Service Bonded Zone is a customs facility granted to companies with adequate levels of compliance and internal control systems. Through this facility, businesses can obtain ease in customs service processes while increasing operational efficiency. Head of the Magelang Customs and Excise Office, Nugroho Wigijarto, stated that this designation is part of the government’s efforts to create an increasingly conducive investment climate and enhance the competitiveness of export-oriented industries. ‘Through the Self-Service Bonded Zone facility, the company is expected to increase productivity, expand export markets, and strengthen its contribution to national economic growth,’ he said in a statement on Wednesday (1/7/2026). With its status as a Self-Service Bonded Zone, PT SJI receives customs service facilitation through simplified administrative procedures and optimised use of electronic systems. This is expected to support the smooth running of industrial activities, particularly in the management of raw materials and export activities. In practice, supervision of the company is carried out through the use of information technology, such as IT Inventory, CCTV, and periodic monitoring. This system allows the supervision process to remain effective while supporting service acceleration, so that the entry of raw materials and the release of goods for export activities are carried out more quickly and efficiently. The designation of PT Shoenary Javanesia Inc as a Self-Service Bonded Zone demonstrates the synergy between the government and the business sector in creating a competitive industrial ecosystem.
