Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2026 was successfully held at ICE BSD in Tangerang, Banten from 5-8 March 2026. The event, organised by the Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI) in partnership with Dyandra Promosindo, attracted 500 exhibitors presenting over 5,000 premium products and drew more than 15,000 visitors from within and outside Indonesia.

To support the smooth running of the event, the Banten Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise provided a bonded exhibition venue facility (Tempat Penyelenggaraan Pameran Berikat – TPPB). Through this facility, exhibition goods from abroad received duty suspension and exemption from import duties and taxes (PDRI). The provision and oversight of the TPPB facility was carried out by the Banten Regional Office as a form of support for the international-scale exhibition organised in Indonesia.

Iwan Agung, Head of the Customs and Excise Facilitation Division at the Banten Regional Office, explained that the customs facility provided various conveniences in the licensing process and operational activities during the exhibition. “This is realised through selective customs inspections at storage facilities based on risk management, thereby maintaining the smooth flow of goods without compromising oversight,” Iwan said.

The participation of hundreds of companies in this event reflected industry participants’ optimism regarding global market prospects. Various buyers from Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Asia attended to explore trade cooperation and conduct direct transactions with Indonesian producers.

Products showcased at the exhibition included wooden, rattan, and bamboo furniture, as well as various home decoration, handicraft, and interior design products that are the mainstays of Indonesia’s creative industry. The organisation of this event is expected to strengthen Indonesian furniture exports to various destination countries.

Iwan stated that through the organisation of IFEX 2026, national furniture exports are expected to continue increasing whilst strengthening Indonesia’s position as one of the world’s furniture suppliers. “The exhibition also demonstrates that Indonesia’s furniture industry is not only able to meet domestic market needs, but also possesses great potential to continue developing in the international market, with the support of increasingly optimal customs service,” Iwan said.
