Customs and Excise Revenue Reaches Rp210.2 Trillion, Growing by 7.8 Per Cent

The Ministry of Finance recorded that customs and excise revenue reached Rp210.2 trillion as of 31 August 2026, representing a year-on-year growth of 7.8 per cent from the previous Rp194.9 trillion.

“A growth of 7.8 per cent is, in my view, a very good performance,” said Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara during the APBN KiTa September 2026 press conference at the Ministry of Finance office in Jakarta on Friday.

The growth in customs and excise revenue was supported by all major components.

Excise revenue was recorded at Rp148.7 trillion, an increase of 3.2 per cent compared to the August 2025 position of Rp144 trillion. This performance was driven by enforcement activities as well as increased production of cigarettes and Ethyl Alcohol-containing Beverages (MMEA).

Meanwhile, export duties recorded the highest growth at 34.4 per cent, rising from Rp18.7 trillion to Rp25.1 trillion. This increase was supported by rising prices and export volumes of crude palm oil (CPO).

On the other hand, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) also strengthened supervision over the circulation of illegal goods.

As of August 2026, the number of enforcement actions against illegal cigarettes was recorded at 13,151 instances, up 9.8 per cent from the 11,979 enforcement actions during the same period the previous year.
