Customers warned of water disruption

JAKARTA: City water operator PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya (Palyja)
said on Wednesday that customers in several parts of Central
Jakarta would experience a disruption in water supplies on
Thursday due to repair work.

In a statement, Palyja spokesperson Maria Sidabutar said
repair work on the 600-millimeter pipe running under Jl Cikini
Raya will take 10 hours to complete, from 9 a.m.

Water supplies will be disrupted at the State Palace, on Jl.
Cikini, Jl. Merdeka Timur, Jl. Menteng Raya, Jl. Perwira, Jl.
Pejambon, Jl. Ridwan Rais, Jl. Merdeka Utara, Jl. Kebon Sirih,
and surrounding areas.

The office buildings of high-ranking ministers are located in
these areas.

Sidabutar asked customers to prepare for the disruptions by
filling their home reservoirs and using water efficiently. --JP
