Customer Day Momentum: PAM JAYA Provides Free Water to Istiqlal Mosque

Coinciding with National Customer Day, celebrated every 4 September, PAM JAYA has reaffirmed its commitment to providing piped drinking water services that are increasingly accessible and beneficial to the community. This commitment was realised through a partnership between PAM JAYA and the Istiqlal Mosque Management Body (BPMI), marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the VIP Room of Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, on Friday, 4 September 2026.

The signing of the MoU was attended by the Minister of Religious Affairs and Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque, Nasaruddin Umar, the President Director of PAM JAYA, Arief Nasrudin, and other officials. The cooperation encompasses support for the provision of piped drinking water, as well as socialisation and educational activities regarding the use of piped drinking water for the public active within the Istiqlal Mosque area.

Through this partnership, Istiqlal Mosque will receive a full subsidy for all PAM JAYA piped drinking water usage costs, including tariffs, administration, and maintenance. This agreement is valid for one year and may be extended based on the agreement of both parties.

As part of the collaboration, Istiqlal Mosque will support PAM JAYA’s socialisation and education activities regarding piped drinking water through various information media available within the mosque premises.

The President Director of PAM JAYA, Arief Nasrudin, stated that the momentum of Customer Day serves as a reminder for PAM JAYA that service does not end with the provision of water, but also involves how the benefits of such services can be felt and brought closer to the community.

“Customer Day is a momentum to continuously look at how PAM JAYA’s services can be present more closely and provide real benefits to the community. This cooperation with Istiqlal Mosque is a form of our commitment, while also opening space for education so that more people recognise and utilise piped drinking water,” said Arief.

PAM JAYA will ensure that the water supply flowing to Istiqlal Mosque meets the applicable quality standards in accordance with Ministry of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. In its implementation, PAM JAYA will also coordinate with the Istiqlal Mosque authorities regarding the installation of educational media and the delivery of information concerning future network maintenance.
