Current Situation of Warehouse Fire in Kosambi Permai, Tangerang
A fire occurred in the Kosambi Permai warehouse area, Kosambi District, Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Wednesday afternoon, 16 September 2026. The incident struck an expedition warehouse located within the Dadap warehouse zone, specifically on Jalan Perancis FM 7.
The fire location is situated outside the northern perimeter and is known as a warehouse area with strategic access due to its proximity to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Several warehousing facilities are indeed located along the Jalan Raya Perancis, Kosambi area.
Based on initial information, the fire was reported at approximately 13:00 WIB. As of around 15:00 WIB, officers were still working to manage the flames. The cause of the fire and the total extent of the losses have not yet been precisely determined.
The situation has drawn attention to the surrounding warehouse area, particularly because the incident occurred near the access route to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
In addition to the flames, activities around the Kosambi Permai area were briefly affected by power disruptions. At around 14:00 WIB, electricity in the warehouse area was reported to have been shut off for a short period.
However, the disruption did not last long. Around 15:00 WIB, the power was restored, and activities in the area began to receive electricity supply again.
“It has turned back on, thank God,” said Rizky in Kosambi, Tangerang, to VIVA on Wednesday, 16 September 2026.
This statement indicates that the electrical disruption near the fire site had returned to normal by the afternoon. Nevertheless, while this was part of the situation surrounding the fire site, it cannot yet be confirmed if it was directly related to the cause of the fire.
20 Warehouses Affected by Fire
The Head of the Tangerang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Achmad Taufik, stated that at least 20 warehouses were affected by the fire.
Of the dozens of affected buildings, some warehouses were known to be unused. Meanwhile, other buildings were still being utilised for storing various types of goods, including foam mattresses.
“A total of 20 warehouse units have been burnt; currently, our teams on the ground are wetting the warehouses that have not yet caught fire to prevent the fire from spreading to the next units,” said Achmad.
