Current Situation at BGN Office During Attorney General's Office Raid: TNI on Guard, Employees Barred Entry
The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has conducted a search of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) office in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta. This raid took place amidst a leadership transition within the BGN on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
According to observations on the scene, several security personnel and members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) were stationed in front of the BGN building, while the office gates remained tightly closed. The office area appeared quiet, with little visible employee activity, although several vehicles were parked neatly on the premises. Members of the media gathered outside the perimeter to monitor developments regarding the Attorney General’s raid.
The search of the BGN office was confirmed by the Acting Head of the Legal Information Centre of the Attorney General’s Office, M. Jeffry. “Investigators from the Special Crimes Division of the Attorney General’s Office did indeed conduct a search at the BGN office,” he told reporters. However, Jeffry did not disclose further details regarding any evidence seized or the specifics of the case being investigated by the Attorney General’s Office.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto officially removed Dadan Hindayana from his position as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The BGN is the primary agency responsible for implementing the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. This decision was announced directly by the State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday (2/6/2026).
The dismissal has drawn significant public attention and raised questions regarding the reasons behind the President’s decision. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi explained that the leadership change was made after the government conducted monitoring and evaluations of the agency’s performance over the past year.
“After approximately 1.5 years of monitoring and evaluation, today, Tuesday, 2 June 2026, the President has decided to change the leadership of the BGN. Firstly, Mr Dadan Hindayana as Head of BGN. We express our gratitude [for his service],” said Prasetyo Hadi during a press conference at the Palace. Dadan had served as the Head of BGN since his inauguration on 19 August 2024, which was conducted by the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, several months before the transition to the Prabowo Subianto administration. “The President continues to monitor, which ultimately leads to the evaluation of the entire cabinet’s performance, including the performance of the National Nutrition Agency,” he added.
