Current Condition of UIN Suska Riau Student Attacked by Fellow Student with Machete

A case of machete attack against a female student at Sultan Syarif Kasim Islamic State University (UIN Suska Riau) on Thursday 26 February 2026 has attracted significant public attention. The incident occurred when the victim was alone in a room waiting for an examination.

The suspect, identified as R, suddenly arrived carrying an axe and immediately attacked the victim. The victim was covered in blood and lay weakly on the floor. She was immediately transported to RS Bhayangkari in Pekanbaru, Riau for surgery.

What is the current condition of the student? According to a video posted on the Instagram account Pekanbaruinfo on Friday 27 February 2026, the Head of Public Relations at Riau Regional Police (Polda Riau), Police Senior Commissioner Zahwani Pandra Arsyad, informed that the victim has been transferred to RSUD Arifin Ahmad Pekanbaru for post-operative care.

“The victim, Faradila Ayu Pramesti, who yesterday suffered a misfortune from an assault by a suspect, RM, aged 21 years, which resulted in rather serious injuries. Praise be to God, from the first aid hospital at RS Bhayangkara, follow-up was carried out after surgery at RSUD Arifin Ahmad,” he stated.

Regarding the victim’s condition, she is currently in a stable state. One of the doctors on duty at RSUD Arifin Ahmad, Dr Nadia, revealed that Farah is currently conscious.

“Faradila’s current condition is in recovery following the post-operative period. Yesterday she underwent surgery on her hand and forehead. Currently, her condition remains stable for the recovery process. As for her consciousness, she has full consciousness, though there are still some issues with communication,” she said.

On the other hand, Police Senior Commissioner Zahwi also revealed something unexpected regarding Faradila’s attacker. He stated that R deliberately and intentionally carried out the assault on Faradila.

“The suspect R deliberately already had the intention to commit an assault by bringing several blades including machetes and cleavers. So sharp weapons, but what he used at that time he directly approached the victim and resulted in injuries,” he stated.

The suspect has been established as a formal suspect and has been detained for further processing.
