Current Condition of the DKI Jakarta Bapenda Building After Fire

The Technical Services Building of the Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) on Jalan Abdul Muis, Central Jakarta, caught fire on Friday evening. Here is the condition of the building today.

Based on detikcom’s observations at the location on Sunday (9/8/2026) at 10.00 WIB, there was no activity inside the building. Police tape was in place restricting access in and out of the building.

Meanwhile, debris from the fire was still scattered around the building area. A significant amount of broken glass remained strewn about.

The upper area of the building that caught fire appeared damaged and charred. The upper floors affected by the fire were left with only their structural frames, and some of the windows were shattered.

It is known that the fire occurred on Friday (7/8/2026) at 21.30 WIB, with flames sweeping through floors 11 to 16. The fire was eventually extinguished on Saturday (8/8).

Police are still investigating the cause of the fire at the Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) building. Preliminary indications suggest the fire originated on the 11th or 12th floor.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Roby Heri Saputra said police, together with the National Police Forensic Laboratory (Puslabfor Polri), had conducted a crime scene investigation. The examination was carried out to locate the point of origin of the fire and determine its cause.

“For certainty, we will convey it after the laboratory results are complete, because earlier there were comparisons from samples taken on floors 11, 12 and 16,” said Roby on Jalan Abdul Muis, Central Jakarta, Saturday (8/8/2026).

Roby said the preliminary assumption is that the fire started on the 11th or 12th floor. Police are still awaiting the results of the National Police Forensic Laboratory examination to confirm the origin of the fire.
