Current Condition of DPR Member Gus Hilman Following Fatal Crash
DPR member Muhammad Hilman Mufidi (25), known as Gus Hilman, has passed the critical phase following a fatal accident on the Pasuruan-Probolinggo Toll Road (Paspro), according to Lalu Hadrian Irfani, Vice Chairman of Commission X of the DPR, on Sunday (24/5).
“Alhamdulillah, he has passed the critical phase. Let us all pray for him,” Lalu told reporters on Sunday (24/5/2026).
Lalu also called for prayers for the recovery of Jazilul Fawaid’s son, urging that Gus Hilman recovers quickly to resume his duties as a DPR member.
“Alhamdulillah, Mas Hilman is doing well; please pray for his swift recovery so he can return to work and fulfil the people’s mandate,” he added.
The vehicle carrying DPR member Hilman was involved in an accident on the Paspro toll road that claimed the lives of two staff members.
The incident occurred on Saturday (23/5). The deceased were Alex Anwaruh and Adinda Najwa, both of whom were Gus Hilman’s staff.
Aipda Taufik, Probolinggo City Traffic Police Enforcement Unit Head, stated that Gus Hilman and his driver survived but were in critical condition and referred to Dr. Soetomo Regional Hospital.
“Four people were involved in the accident. Two died, one was referred to Dr. Soetomo Regional Hospital in Surabaya, and the other is receiving treatment at a hospital,” Taufik told detikJatim on Sunday.
Muhammad Hilman, alias Gus Hilman, is a member of the DPR from the PKB faction and serves on Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
Police stated that four people were in the Innova car carrying Gus Hilman. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Aipda Taufik said the preliminary suspicion was that the driver lost concentration while driving on the fast lane.
“Possibly due to lack of concentration or the driver being drowsy, causing the vehicle to collide with a dump truck ahead,” said Aipda Taufik.
He outlined the accident sequence. Before the crash, the eastbound Innova reportedly lost control, suspectedly due to the driver falling asleep.
Despite instability, the vehicle continued at high speed before hitting the dump truck, which was in the left lane and moving in the same direction as the Innova.
“The dump truck was in the left lane, so the Innova collided with the rear right side of the dump truck’s cargo area,” he added.
