Current Atmosphere at the Funeral Home of Corporal Farizal, the Fallen TNI Soldier in Lebanon
Corporal Farizal, who was serving with the Task Force of the Indonesian TNI’s Garuda Contingent (Konga) in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission, was killed in an Israeli attack. The late soldier is known to be a resident of Ledok, Sidorejo, Lendah, Kulon Progo. Here is the current atmosphere at the funeral home.
Observations by detikJogja on Monday (30/3/2026) show that a number of residents are still cleaning the area around the funeral home. Wild grass around the location is being cleared, including along the road leading to the funeral home. Several mourners have also been seen arriving.
A condolence wreath from Deputy Foreign Minister M. Anis Matta was also visible. The wreath from Anis Matta was delivered by pickup truck and arrived at the funeral home in Padukuhan Ledok, Kulon Progo, around 14:03 WIB. The wreath was then promptly placed in front of the funeral home.
It is known that Corporal Farizal was serving with the Task Force of the Indonesian TNI’s Garuda Contingent (Konga) in the UNIFIL mission.
The Commander of Kodim 0731/Kulon Progo, Lieutenant Colonel Inf Dyan Niti Sukma, confirmed that the deceased is Corporal Farizal, a resident of Padukuhan Ledok, Sidorejo, Lendah, Kulon Progo.
“Yes, yes, it’s true,” said Lieutenant Colonel Dyan when contacted by reporters on Monday (30/3).
“In Lendah, yes, it’s true. He is from Kulon Progo,” he added.
Dyan stated that for now, Corporal Farizal’s body is still in Lebanon awaiting repatriation procedures. He said the body would be repatriated as soon as the administrative processes are completed.
“If it’s about the body, we can provide information because its position is still in Lebanon,” he said.
According to detikNews, a TNI member serving as a UN Peacekeeping Force in Lebanon (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon/UNIFIL) was killed in an attack in Lebanon. Indonesia has condemned the attack.
“Indonesia strongly condemns the incident and calls for a thorough and transparent investigation,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) of the Republic of Indonesia stated via its X account @Kemlu_RI on Monday (30/3).
The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has expressed its deepest condolences over the death of the TNI member who was part of UNIFIL. Indonesia has reiterated its condemnation of the Israeli attack on Lebanon.
“Indonesia reaffirms its condemnation of the Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon and calls on all parties to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon, to stop attacks on civilians and infrastructure, and to return to dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further escalation and advance peace,” Kemlu emphasised.
