Culture Ministry Drafts Regulation on Historic Asset Administration

The Ministry of Culture is drafting a ministerial regulation on the administration of historic assets to improve cultural asset governance. “We are drafting a ministerial regulation on historic asset administration to ensure greater order,” said Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha Djumaryo during a working meeting with House of Representatives Commission X at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday. He stated that the drafting of the regulation is part of the ministry’s efforts to follow up on the findings of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) and to improve the management of historic assets. According to him, the Ministry of Culture is following up on all BPK findings concerning compliance in revenue and expenditure management as well as the effectiveness of asset inventory. During 2025, the Ministry of Culture recorded Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) realisation of IDR 69.73 billion, or 121.15 percent of the target, and expenditure realisation of IDR 2.51 trillion, or 96.86 percent of the budget ceiling of IDR 2.59 trillion. Additionally, the Ministry of Culture booked total assets valued at IDR 9.07 trillion with a Government Internal Control System (SPIP) maturity score of 2.87. The Culture Development Index for 2025 was recorded at 59.98, exceeding the target of 58.39. Meanwhile, the Bureaucratic Reform Index was recorded at 84.29, still below the target of 89.13. Commission X of the House of Representatives urged the Ministry of Culture to improve planning quality and accelerate the follow-up of BPK recommendations, including completing the asset inventory following the separation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
