Indonesian Culture Minister Fadli Zon has officially inaugurated several High-Level Leadership Officials (Pratama), Administrators, and Supervisors within the Ministry of Culture. This agenda forms part of efforts to strengthen organisational governance and enhance bureaucratic performance in supporting sustainable national cultural development.

In his address, Fadli Zon emphasised that the positions entrusted to them are a mandate that must be carried out with full responsibility and dedication to the nation and state. He hopes that the inaugurated officials will demonstrate adaptive, effective, and professional leadership.

“In the midst of budget efficiency challenges and increasingly high performance demands, I want to emphasise the importance of discipline in working and ensuring that every programme has clear and measurable objectives,” said Fadli Zon in a written statement on Friday (3/4/2026).

Additionally, Fadli stressed the importance of strengthening the four main pillars of cultural policy, namely the internalisation of educational values, cultural economy, culture as soft power diplomacy, and culture as binding power in strengthening national unity.

He also affirmed that every outcome must be accountable transparently, and efficiency should be interpreted as an effort to optimise resources.

“Cut procedures that do not add value and are inefficient, strengthen efficiency, coordination, accelerate decision-making that has real impact based on high competence and integrity,” asserted Fadli Zon.

According to him, this inauguration is not merely a filling of positions, but a strategic step to strengthen the organisation and ensure that culture becomes the foundation of national development. He also emphasised the importance of internal synergy as well as with stakeholders, cultural practitioners, and actors.

Furthermore, Fadli Zon encouraged the acceleration of digital transformation in managing cultural data and assets, as well as strengthening partnerships with local governments, communities, and the private sector. A collaborative approach is seen as key to expanding support for cultural advancement programmes.

Closing his remarks, Fadli Zon extended congratulations to all the inaugurated officials and hoped that the mandate could be carried out as best as possible as a real contribution to the advancement of national culture.

On the same occasion, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Bambang Wibawarta, conveyed the importance of alignment in direction, frequency, and understanding across all ranks of the newly inaugurated administrator and supervisor officials.

He hopes that the entire ranks can move in harmony with the Ministry of Culture’s policies and the mandates of laws and regulations. This alignment is considered crucial so that all work units do not operate independently, but are effectively coordinated in achieving the goals of national cultural advancement.

Bambang Wibawarta emphasised that the inauguration is not only an administrative process, but also a momentum to strengthen the implementation of cultural advancement policies.

He underlined the importance of the officials’ role in promoting the linkage between culture and the economy, as well as increasing the Cultural Advancement Index in the regions through targeted, measurable programmes that impact society.

“Alignment in direction and steps is the key so that the entire ranks can move in unison. We cannot walk alone. The strength of the organisation is determined by compactness and speed. Therefore, we must support each other, strengthen coordination, and ensure that all cultural advancement programmes run effectively and provide real benefits to society,” he stated.
