Minister of Culture Fadli Zon has received the detikSumatera Award in the category of Guardian of Heritage and Collective Memory of Sumatra. Fadli said he dedicated the award to all cultural champions in Sumatra.

“Of course I dedicate this award to the cultural champions in Sumatra who recently suffered misfortune. In Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, and also the extraordinary heritage that exists in Sumatra and other regions in Indonesia,” Fadli said at Trans Hotel Jakarta on Friday (28/8/2026).

Fadli said safeguarding and advancing Indonesian culture is a constitutional mandate enshrined in Article 32 paragraph 1 of the 1945 Constitution. He said this legal basis underpins the Ministry of Culture’s work in preserving all Indonesian culture.

The detikSumatera Award is a platform of recognition from detikcom to honour figures, institutions, communities, and business actors who bring innovation and tangible contributions to Sumatra’s progress.

This prestigious appreciation is specifically presented to those who have succeeded in bringing real change and contributing to regional advancement through innovative programmes, consistent business growth, and concrete actions by change-makers across the land of Sumatra.

The detikSumatera Award features four main award categories: the Commendable Development Innovation Programme Award, the Commendable Economic Programme Award, the Commendable Business Programme Award, and the Progress Accelerator Figure Award.

More than just an awards event, the detikSumatera Award is expected to spark more strategic collaborations and fresh ideas whose benefits are directly felt by communities in Sumatra.
