Culture Minister Fadli Zon received a delegation from the Central Executive Board of Gerakan Masyarakat Sanathana Dharma Nusantara (GEMA SADHANA) at the Ministry of Culture offices in Jakarta. During the meeting, he expressed appreciation for GEMA SADHANA’s initiative to preserve cultural expression, including plans to train 1,000 dancers for the ‘Genjring Party’ programme.

The Genjring Party programme, involving a thousand dance studios across the Greater Jakarta area, is scheduled to take place on 28 February 2026 at the Murugan Temple, also known as Shri Sanathana Dharma Aalayam. The initiative is considered capable of boosting motivation and appreciation among dancers and music creators alike.

Fadli affirmed that cultural advancement is a shared responsibility of all elements of the nation, in line with the constitutional mandate. He expressed hope that an increasing number of cultural expression initiatives would flourish, spanning visual arts, dance, performing arts, and other forms of cultural expression.

“In accordance with Article 32, Paragraph 1 of the 1945 Constitution, which states that the state shall advance Indonesia’s national culture amidst world civilisation, we have an obligation,” he said in a written statement.

Similarly, Director of Cultural Value Empowerment and Intellectual Property Facilitation Yayuk Sri Budi Rahayu stressed that the preservation, utilisation, and transmission of culture is not solely the government’s responsibility but that of the entire society.

Chairman of the GEMA SADHANA Central Executive Board, A.S. Kobalen, also expressed appreciation for the warm reception from the Ministry of Culture and emphasised the importance of generational renewal among dancers.

“We want to provide motivation that these studios are not alone — these studios can be nurtured and preserved,” he said.

Furthermore, studio leadership representative Ratu noted that enthusiasm for the Genjring Party training has been exceptionally high. She explained that the event is not merely a performance but a form of appreciation and an effort to ensure the sustainability of dance as an art form.

GEMA SADHANA was established in 2011 to champion the rights and aspirations of Hindu, Buddhist, Confucian communities, as well as adherents of Belief in the One Almighty God. The organisation also aims to strengthen national values in the spirit of diversity through various cultural initiatives across the archipelago.

The event was also attended by Director of Cultural Value Empowerment and Intellectual Property Facilitation Yayuk Sri Budi Rahayu, Director of Belief in the One Almighty God and Indigenous Communities Development Sjamsul Hadi, Director of Human Resources, Institutional and Cultural Infrastructure Development Irini Dewi Wanti, Expert Staff to the Culture Minister for Cultural Economy and Industry Anindita Kusuma Listya, and Special Staff to the Culture Minister for Law and Intellectual Property B.R.A. Putri Woelan Sari Dewi.
