Cultural program for students

JAKARTA (JP):A total of 1,500 students, from 22 high schools
in South Jakarta, participated in a one-day cultural appreciation
program at the Bulungan Sports Hall yesterday.

Secretary of the South Jakarta administration, Abdul Mukti,
who opened the program on behalf of the South Jakarta Mayor, said
he fully endorsed the program.

"The program is quite commendable and should continue to be
held on a regular basis. I believe such a program may be very
helpful in preventing students from brawling on the streets, and
engaging in other delinquent behavior," he said.(bas)
