Cultural Processions and Carnivals Celebrate Pancasila Day Across Indonesia
The 2026 Pancasila Birth Anniversary was celebrated vibrantly across Indonesia through diverse cultural, educational, and traditional activities promoting unity and diversity.
In Denpasar, Bali, hundreds of participants from various community groups, artists, and students joined the Pancasila Carnival. Schoolchildren showcased decorated bicycles in the parade, aimed at strengthening unity, fostering harmony, and nurturing nationalism.
Meanwhile, residents of Gandekan Village in Solo, Central Java, held the Kirab Bhinneka procession to commemorate Pancasila Day. The event conveyed messages of unity in diversity and encouraged pride in Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
In Blitar, East Java, locals organised the Grebeg Pancasila tradition at the burial site of Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno. The ceremony, attended by artists, cultural figures, students, and community members, concluded with a competition for a mountain of agricultural produce, symbolising gratitude and togetherness.
Educational activities also took place in West Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat, where students from SRMP 18 Lombok Barat participated in events ranging from flag ceremonies to assembling Garuda Pancasila puzzles. These initiatives aimed to deepen students’ understanding of Pancasila’s values as a unifying national symbol.
The varied events across regions demonstrate that Pancasila’s principles remain alive, serving as a cohesive force in Indonesia’s diverse society.
